1) Installation / Set-up



After extracting theme and uploading it to wp-content --> themes --> authority-lite, then you need to do following settings 



a) Edit Your Main Menu (See "Main Menu" in this file for more info)

b) Create a post in the "Uncategorized" category (or another category of your choosing. See "Featured Category" in this file for more info)

2) Main Menu: 



   Open "home.php" and look for the code:

3) HOMEPAGE



Homepage template is home.php



a) Main Banner: set in "home.php" file. The main banner contain's your latest posts. Read the details in "4) Featured Category' section on this file.



b) 3 Customizable Blocks: these can be set to display anything you like, from images to videos to lists of posts. PHP and HTML accepatable.

4) Featured Category*



Using "home.php"



a) Find the code:



   <?php query_posts('cat=1&showposts=1');



   Change cat=1 to cat=# the number of the category you want to be featured on the homepage. For info on more functionality of the category function,

see: http://codex.wordpress.org/Category_Templates



b) To display featured posts on the homepage, simply add a post to the featured category you've chosen.



c) To display an image on the homepage for your featured posts, paste the link to your image in the "image" custom field. The best dimensions for this image are 430px wide × 224px high.



d) To display a video on the homepage for your featured posts, paste the embed code for your video in the "embed" custom field. The best dimensions for this video are 432px wide × 240px high.



e) To show the "Visit Website" button, you need to assign class="visit-site-btn" to an anchor tag. The code should look like this:



   <a href="#" class="visit-site-btn"><span>Visit Website</span></a>



   Change the "#" to the link of your website.

Features after v1.0 do not appear in the Lite version of the Authority Theme. The full version also includes .psd files for the images used in this theme for easier editing, a detailed walkthrough of the css and html options for futher customizing the Authority Theme to your specific tastes, and many other features not found in this free version.
